Sandy Centre
Our revamp to Sandy Centre (R7m) is now 99% complete. The transformation of the centre has been massive from both and an appearance and performance point of view.
Whilst Sandy Centre has not been as profitable as Dube Village Mall and Philani Valley Mall it is an exceptional property location. The addiotinal turnover rental received since the revamp has compensated for our additional expenditure and the opportunity has future upside potential that we are working on.
The key factor being that the current intersection will become a major arterial link as Otto Vollek Rd will be linked to the M25 Kwamashu Highway and this will be an alternative (probably the preferred alternative) to the N3 and M19 when heading from the Outer West to the North Coast. Stapleton Rd will then also link this to the Hans Dettman highway.
These road works are anticipated to be completed over the next five years and will add significant value to the already prime location of Sandy Centre.
The larger and newly renovated Kwikspar, which is on a 10 year corporate lease with Spar, is beautifully fitted out with a great fresh produce, bakery and butchery department and is currently trading well.
