The Colony

 

We are pleased to have signed up Chateau Gateaux at The Colony. They began trading on Mother’s Day and we believe they will add notable value to our tenant offering.

 

We have been negotiating with other prospective tennats and we are pleased to announce that we have singed a five year lease with Jetline who will be moving in next door to Chateau Gateaux with effect from 1 August 2014. Other announcements will be made shortly.

 

Our plans for the façade changes have just been approved and we will be commencing our R1,5m upgrade during July 2014.

 

As the Colony was our first turnaround retail investment project it has given us some wonderful insight and experience into what is required to get an ailing centre to turn the corner. Retail property investments require considerably more effort than office or industrial assets, however they give you the opportunity, if you do the right things, to enhance your return significantly.
